Visit Luxor East Bank Attractions on Day One
Meet your private tour guide upon arrival in Luxor to begin your Luxury Nile Cruise holiday in Egypt and discover ancient Egyptian civilization in the most famous archaeological sites along the Riverbank in Luxor East Bank such as:
Temple of Karnak
To begin your luxury experience in Egypt, no site is more impressive than the Karnak temple. It is the largest temple complex ever built by man and represents the culmination of many generations of ancient pharaohs’ efforts. The Temple of Karnak is comprised of three main temples, several smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples spread across 247 acres of land.

The Luxor Temple
The Temple of Luxor was the focal point of the most important festival, the Opet Festival. The temple, which was largely built by Amenhotep III and Rameses II, served as a venue for festival rituals. The festival was intended to reconcile the ruler’s human aspect with the divine office.

The Valley of Kings
It is the final resting place of Egypt’s rulers from the 18th to the 20th dynasties, and it contains tombs of the great Pharaoh Ramses II and the boy Tutankhamen. The tombs were well-stocked with all the material goods that a ruler might require in the afterlife. The majority of the decoration inside the tombs has survived.
Temple of Hatshepsut
One of the most beautiful and well-preserved temples in Ancient Egypt. The temple was built on three levels, with two wide ramps connecting them in the center.
Memnon’s Colossi
The only remnants of a complete mortuary temple are two massive stone statues of King Amenhotep III. The statues are made from blocks of quartzite sandstone found in Cairo and transported 700 kilometers to Luxor.

The Nile is visible from the Kom Ombo Temple. This temple was divided into two temples, each with two entrances, two hypostyle halls, and two sanctuaries.

High Dam of Aswan
Aswan was built across the Nile. The High Dam was built between 1960 and 1970 and has had a significant impact on Egypt’s economy and culture.
The Unfinished Obelisk
The world’s largest ancient obelisk. Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC) commissioned it, possibly to complement the Lateran Obelisk (which was originally at Karnak and was later moved to the Lateran Palace in Rome).
Temple of Philae
Philae temple is dedicated to the goddess of love and beauty, Isis. As part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign project, the temple complex was dismantled and relocated to nearby Agilkia Island, protecting it and other complexes prior to the completion of the Aswan High Dam in 1970.
