Day 1: Welcome to Egypt, the Land of the Pharaohs

Our “Egypt Tours Inn” employee will be waiting for you at Cairo airport from the moment you arrive safely in this country, where he will assist you with all of your passport control requirements as well as baggage identification and carry. Giza Pyramids Complex

The Giza Pyramids Complex will be your first stop; it has been standing for almost 4000 years, making it one of the world’s oldest structures. The Giza complex includes three major pyramids, six smaller pyramids, the magnificent Sphinx, and the Valley Temple of Immortality.

The Great Pyramid of Khufu

It’s a must-see attraction since it’s the final remaining structure of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, as well as one of the world’s largest constructions. It dates back to 2580 BC, making it about 4500 years old. The High Dam

The High Dam is one of Aswan’s few new attractions, having been built between 1960 and 1970 under Gamal Abdel Nasser’s rule, The dam was built with the support of a Moscow-based hydro project institution to improve Nile flood management and offer more water storage for agriculture in its reservoir lake Nasser, all for the goal of producing hydroelectricity.

The Unfinished Obelisk

The Unfinished Obelisk is a one-of-a-kind monument in Aswan; it was commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC) to stand at the entrance of the Karnak temple beside the Lateran obelisk, which now stands in Rome’s Lateran Palace. It was called “Tekhenu,” which means “Pierce the Sky,” and it was 42 meters tall and weighed 1200 tons, demonstrating how obelisks were created and Ancient Egyptian building methods. Sadly, the obelisk was shattered during construction and has stayed there to this day.

Temple of Philae

Philea Temple is a mythological temple dedicated to the goddess Isis of Love and Beauty. It is most known for depicting the “Myth of Osiris,” in which Isis’ husband “Osiris” is murdered by his brother. Osiris is revived as the king of the underworld out of sheer hate and jealousy, only to be vanquished by Isis and Osiris Son Hours, the sky God. The temple was transported to the island of Agilkia in the 1960s as part of a UNESCO-led rescue operation after the building of the Aswan High Dam.

Temple of Kom Ombo

“The Hill of Gold” is the name of the Kom Ombo Temple. It was built during the Greco-Roman era, between 205 and 180 BC, during Ptolemy V’s rule. The temple’s peculiar double design divides it into two similar sections, one for the crocodile deity Sobek and the other for the falcon sky god Horus, which makes it unique.

Edfu temple

Edfu Temple was one of the final temples to be erected as the official worship place of the sky deity Horus during the Ptolemaic dynasty, between 237 BC and 57 BC. According to Osiris Myth, it was erected on the same site where the battle between the demon god Set and Horus took place. It was discovered when Auguste Mariette, a French Egyptologist, excavated it in 1860. The Edfu Temple’s architecture and interior are stunning, combining Greek and Egyptian styles to perfection.

The temple’s architecture is based on the notion of Classical Architecture, and it houses some of Egypt’s most stunning sculptures, decorations, and artwork.

Memnon’s Colossi

The Colossi of Memnon, also known as the enormous defenders of Luxor, are two quartzite sandstone rocks that measure 18 meters (60 feet) tall and weigh 720 tons each, and are shaped like Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386-1350). A huge earthquake in 27 BC devastated the Colossi, but they were reconstructed around 199 AD. The Vocal Memnon, which came from the statues singing for a few moments at dawn, was nothing more than the sound of the wind moving through the statue during the Greco-Roman era.
