Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa

The epic Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa is a unique Roman burial site and one of the seven wonders of the Middle Ages containing a family tomb that was built in the 2nd century AD. It is famous for containing the finest examples of Egyptian and Roman art and architecture.

Pompey’s Pillar

The great Pillar of Pompey was able to stand the test of time to be at 298 and 302 AD. The great 82-foot (25-meter) granite column was constructed in the honor of Emperor Diocletian and there is a rumor that the pillar contains the remains of General Pompey.

Qaitbay Citadel
